For schools utilising some web filters a broadband certificate must be installed on devices to ensure the internet works correctly. Below provides instructions on how to install the broadband certificate on an iOS device.

Installing the certificate:

  1. On your Apple device download the broadband certificate directly to your device.
  2. Navigate to Settings > General > Profile
  3. Select the Smoothwall Profile and then select Install to install the profile.

To enable full trust for your SSL/TLS certificate, you need to follow a few simple steps.

  1. Firstly, go to your device's Settings and select General.
  2. From there, select About and then Certificate Trust Settings. This will take you to a list of all the certificates that your device has recognized.
  3. Next, locate the certificate that you want to enable full trust for and toggle the switch next to it to turn on trust. This will ensure that your device recognizes the certificate as a trusted source and allows secure connections to be established.

It is important to note that enabling full trust for a certificate should only be done if you trust the source of the certificate. If you are unsure about the source or authenticity of the certificate, it is best to not enable full trust for it.

In conclusion, enabling full trust for a SSL/TLS certificate on your IOS device is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. By doing so, you can ensure that your device recognizes the certificate as a trusted source and allows secure connections to be established.
