SIMS - I have been notified of an upgrade, patch, file set by my SIMS Support Unit.

This article explains the process that Concero Education follow when applying upgrades, patches and file sets.

At Concero Education, we provide a 'point and patch' service for SIMS. This means that we will apply the upgrade, patch or file set from your SOLUS environment to the devices on your network when it is requested from the school in a ticket detailing which upgrade, patch or file set is required. Your SIMS Support Unit should notify you which upgrade, patch or file set is required.

Upgrades - We will reply to the ticket to arrange a time to go ahead with the upgrade, this is because all devices should exit out of SIMS and be left switched on. If devices are switched off or have SIMS open during the upgrade then this could cause errors on affected devices. Upgrades are usually run overnight.

Patches & Filesets - These can be run during the day while users are logged into SIMS and while other devices are switched off.
