Ricoh - How to add a printer code to your device

Modified on Tue, 23 Jan at 3:15 PM

This is for machines that are not cloud based. For intune managed devices, with Printix, refer to this article

  • Press the Windows Key at the bottom left of the keyboard
  • Type the word "Printer"
  • Open "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" (Usually the top option).

  • Once you see a similar page to the one above, select the printer you are looking to enter your printer code into.
  • Right click the printer, and click "Printer properties"

  • Once you have opened the properties page like the above image; click onto "Preferences..." at the bottom left.

  • The preferences page should look like this one above. Ensure the job type is set as "Locked Print". Once you have that selected; click onto "Details..." on the right of "Locked Print".

  • On the top left dropdown (User ID); change the option to "Create Own ID".
  • The box to the right should now become available to type into.
  • Type in the printer username provided to you into the box and then click into the Password box at the bottom left.
  • In the password box, type in the code provided to you.
  • Select "Ok" on the "Job Type Details" tab, and click "Apply" on the Printer Preferences tab, then click "Ok".

You have now paired up your device to the user code provided to you. If you begin using a different device, please be aware you will need to follow this documentation again to begin printing again.
