Win 11 - How To Create A Desktop Shortcut

This article will be showing you how to create a desktop shortcut with web links or downloaded applications. 



Step 1: Right click on your screen


  • This will show you a range of options to select.


Step 2: Select New 



Step 3: Select Shortcut


  • This will allow you to also paste links for web browser shortcuts, folder shortcuts, document shortcuts and application shortcuts that are not showing when you select new.


Step 4: Create Shortcut


  • You will now be able to paste the web link you would like a shortcut to or if you wish to set a file or folder, see below.



  • You will then be able to browse file or folders that you would like as a shortcut.
