Finding your PC Name

Sometimes, to locate your device we may require your PC name. This is how to find it.


Using system menu


Your computer's name is a unique identifier that distinguishes it from other devices on the network. It's important to know your PC name when troubleshooting network issues or connecting to other devices. Here's how to find your PC name from the username screen without using the command prompt.


Step 1: Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.


Step 2: Click on the gear icon to open the Settings menu.


Step 3: Click on System.


Step 4: Click on About.


Step 5: Scroll down to the Device specifications section.


Step 6: Look for the Device name field. This is your PC name.


If you need to change your PC name, you can do so by clicking on the Rename this PC button in the About section. Enter a new name and click on Next to save the changes.


Using Username Screen


If your settings screen is blocked then if you log out of the computer and enter .\
