Windows - Finding your PC Name

Sometimes, to locate your device we may require your PC name. This is how to find it.


Using system menu


Your computer's name is a unique identifier that distinguishes it from other devices on the network. It's important to know your PC name when troubleshooting network issues or connecting to other devices. Here's how to find your PC name from the username screen without using the command prompt.


Step 1: Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen.


Step 2: Type Settings to open the settings menu.

Step 3: Click on System on the left side (if it is not already selected)


Step 4: Your device name should be at the top of the screen.


Using Username Screen

If your settings screen is blocked then if you log out of the computer and enter .\ within the username box.
