? Backing Up Your Browser Favourites to OneDrive
This guide will walk you through how to export your favourites (bookmarks) from your browser and save a backup to your OneDrive. This is helpful when switching devices or ensuring your important links are safely stored in the cloud.
?️ For Microsoft Edge Users
Step 1: Export Your Favourites
Open Microsoft Edge.
Click the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner.
Go to Favourites > Manage favourites.
In the "Favourites" tab, click the three dots (⋯) next to "Add folder".
Choose Export favourites.
A file explorer window will open. Save the file (e.g.,
favourites.html
) to your Downloads folder or desktop.
Step 2: Upload to OneDrive
Open a browser and go to OneDrive.
Sign in with your school account.
Navigate to the folder where you want to save your backup (or create a new folder like
BrowserBackups
).Click Upload > Files.
Select the
favourites.html
file you saved earlier and click Open.
✅ Done! Your Edge favourites are now backed up on OneDrive.
? For Google Chrome Users
Step 1: Export Your Bookmarks
Open Google Chrome.
Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
Go to Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
In Bookmark Manager, click the three dots (⋮) next to the search bar.
Select Export bookmarks.
Save the file (e.g.,
bookmarks.html
) to your Downloads folder or desktop.
Step 2: Upload to OneDrive
Go to OneDrive and log in with your school account.
Navigate to a folder where you want the backup saved.
Click Upload > Files.
Select the
bookmarks.html
file and click Open.
✅ That’s it! Your Chrome bookmarks are now safely stored on OneDrive.

Consider naming the file with the date (e.g.,
favourites_May2025.html
) to keep track of versions.You can restore bookmarks later by importing the file into Edge or Chrome via their import options.
Make this a monthly habit or do it before switching to a new device.
