Modified on Fri, 28 Jun at 10:29 AM

This guide is for if your laptop will not power on. This means that there is nothing on the screen when you press the power button.
In the case of your laptop not switching on, please try the following:

Solution 1

- Hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Then try switching it back on.

Solution 2

- Try taking the battery out (clips on the back of some laptops) and then hold the power button for about 30 seconds (to drain the electricity from the laptop) Then put the battery back in and try to turn the laptop on.

Solution 3

- Plug the laptop into a power source with your charger, try turning the laptop on. If it still does not turn on, leave the laptop plugged in for two hours to charge and try again.

If you have tried all the solutions to no success, this indicates a problem with the hardware and will need to be visually inspected by the technician.

Troubleshooting notes
